Well, well, well… Where do I start with this wedding?
The moment Emily contacted me regarding their wedding I absolutely knew it was going to be special. Her style and taste matched mine to a tee, and I had everything crossed that they were going to book me, and I am so happy that they did!!
Prior to the wedding, Emily emailed me a document with all of her ideas for each aspect of the day, and I honestly had to pinch myself that I was actually photographing this wedding! It literally felt like Emily had crawled in to my head and pulled out how I picture a dream wedding to look (basically if I got married in the U.K it would look A LOT similar to Emily and Han’s!)
The actual wedding day was everything I expected and more. I hadn’t met Emily or Han prior to the wedding, I had only ever had email communication with Emily and my gosh they are the loveliest, sweetest couple and within a very short space of time I could see how perfect they were for each other!
Emily and Han held their entire wedding day at The Holford Estate in Cheshire, which is now absolutely my favourite wedding venue in the North West. It is ridiculously stunning and unique! They both got ready in The Mill, which was a gorgeous cottage surrounded by greenery. Their Ceremony was held in the gardens – and you will see for yourself with the photos just how beautiful it looked – and their reception was in The Barn.
Han and Emily decided to have a First Look, which was the first ‘first look’ I have had the experience of photographing, and I thought it was magical! A ‘first look’ if you’re not familiar with the term is when the Bride and Groom see each other for the first time before the Ceremony – I can almost hear you all gasping at the thought! – to enjoy a few precious minutes alone before the big day starts. It is also a great opportunity to share a personal, emotional and intimate moment together on your wedding day.
Emily then went to get changed in to her second dress, which was a gorgeous dusty blush dress with a delicate lace bodice and tulle skirt – even her wedding dress matched her blush colour scheme – while the Groom and wedding party enjoyed the photobooth by Chase The Sun.
The outdoor Ceremony in the gardens was absolutely perfect, and luckily the forecasted rain held off and the sun made an appearance. I know with outdoor ceremonies in the UK it’s a bit touch and go because of the weather, but give me an outdoor ceremony any day of the week!! The chairs were decorated with florals by my favourite florist – Fiona of Firenza Flowers – not forgetting the amazing floral arch. Rose petals and lanterns finished the aisle off perfectly… Are you swooning yet!?
The Barn… Oh the Barn. Wow. Nina Marika did an INCREDIBLE job with the venue styling, it looked amazing!! Cute glass bottles with each persons name laser engraved on to the copper tags, drink stirrer, lavender and a funky straw; lanterns and foliage as the centre pieces; macaroons as wedding favours (yum!); blush coloured napkins and sweet Mr & Mrs wooden signs. Emily and Han really thought about every detail and Nina did an amazing job executing it!
This incredible day was topped off with shots, non stop dancing and a sparkler send off! I absolutely loved every minute of this wedding. A huge thank you to Emily and Han for having myself and my awesome second shooter Natalie along for the day, and for just being so bloody lovely!
