Claire and Craig’s intimate elopement in Santorini, Greece
Claire and Craig travelled all the way from Queensland, Australia to elope on the beautiful caldera in Santorini. When Claire got in touch in August 2018, I was absolutely over the moon! A Santorini elopement had been on my bucket list for some time so when they told me they wanted to book with me, I was so flipping’ excited!
Claire and Craig stayed in Mesaria, a beaut little village off the beaten track, where they both got ready together along with Claire’s Mum, Dad and Craig’s sister. Their ceremony took place at the stunning Villa Irini in Pyrgos on the caldera, with the most picturesque backdrop, followed by us venturing around the island for portraits.
Claire and Craig wanted their portrait session to be a huge part of their day and was one of the reasons they wanted to marry in Santorini. They absolutely loved the landscape and backdrops that Santorini has to offer, and boy did we take full advantage of that! We wandered the streets of Pyrgos then headed over to Imerovigli where we made our way to Skaros Rock. We trekked down what felt like thousands of steps (going down was easy, coming back up – not so much! Especially if you’re as unfit as I am ha!) stopping for portraits in various locations on the way down, until we reached Skaros Rock just before sunset! I had never visited here before and it was stunning, it felt so untouched and raw which I loved. Once the sun had gone down on their wedding day, Claire and Craig headed off to enjoy dinner with their family.
Thank you both so much for having me along to go on this adventure with you, I had an absolute blast!
